Recipe - Dried Fruit Oatmeal Power Bars

Ingredients:

3 cup Quickcooking oats
One half cup Finely chopped dried pears
One half cup Finely chopped dried
cranberries
Three fourths cup Butter or margarine
1 cup Packed brown sugar
Three fourths teaspoon Salt
One half teaspoon Grated lemon rind
1 One half tablespoon Corn syrup
1 One half teaspoon Vanilla

In large bowl, combine oats and dried fruit; set aside. In large heavy
saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Stir in sugar, salt, lemon rind, corn
syrup and vanilla; bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
Remove from heat and stir in oat mixture. Turn into 13x9inch baking pan;
press mixture to form an even layer. Bake at 350 F for 20 minutes. Cut
into bars while still warm. Makes about 21 bars.
